FAQs

Where do I park for in-studio sessions?

There is free parking available behind Hummingbird Pilates or in the shopping plaza around the corner on W Olympic Blvd and Oakhurst Dr (where Clark Street Bread & Dr. Sandwich are located). Free street parking is also available on S Doheny for up to two hours.

What do I do if I need to cancel?

Cancellations are accepted via text (213-262-8385) or email (info@berkeleypilates.co). There is a strict 24-hour cancellation policy, which means if you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled session, your session will be forfeited. The time stated on the text message or outgoing email is the official time of cancellation.

Are you available for private events?

Yes! We can offer in-studio Pilates Mat and/or Reformer for small groups, or we can be on-location at your home or private event space and teach Pilates Mat (with or without small props) to larger groups. Please inquire for more details.

Do you teach any group classes?

Yes! Click here to view my weekly Reformer Pilates schedule at Hot Pilates in West Hollywood. These classes are best for clients with some previous Pilates experience or those who do not have any current injuries or do not need any major modifications. If you’ve never been on a Pilates Reformer before, I strongly encourage taking a few private sessions first before starting group classes to get the most out of your workout.

Do you offer refunds?

No, all purchases are final and non-refundable/non-exchangeable. However, unused sessions can be transferred to a family member or friend. If you have any questions about what appointment type to book, please reach out to us first before purchasing online.

Do you work with prenatal clients?

Yes, absolutely! While we generally adhere to the advice that it is not recommend to start a new fitness method while pregnant, if your doctor has given you the green light to start Pilates, we will create a custom Pilates program for each trimester of pregnancy.

Is Pilates good for rehabilitation?

Many clients transition from physical therapy to Pilates because it is generally considered safe and low-impact. You can continue to address particular concerns post-rehab while reintroducing a full-body workout to your routine after a previous injury or surgery, and before returning to more high-impact activities like sports, weight-lifting, and certain forms of cardio. Longterm, Pilates is an excellent cross-training exercise modality.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable athletic clothes similar to what you would wear for yoga or other low-impact exercise classes. Form fitting tops or leggings are better for your instructor to view your form. Socks with grip are required. Please avoid any clothes with zippers and wearing any strong fragrances.

How far in advanced can I book?

Clients can book all session types up to 60 days in advance. All bookings and payments must be made online through the website. For Duet Sessions (2:1), In-Home Sessions, and Private events, please inquire via email for rates and availability.
